This Launch level kit for grades 8-12 includes afull-color student workbook and a detailed teacher guide, with step-by-step instructions for both hands-on and reading-based activities designed to engage students in the cycling of matter and energy.Both teacher and student will be able to open the box and start within minutes, and the kit will provideover 15 hours of engaging learning.

In this kit, the student will engage in these hands-on learning experiences:

• Find out how some animals survive with little to no oxygen.
• Make a model to examine the differences between body-level and cellular-level respiration.
• Change the color of a solution to show how carbon moves through Earths spheres.
• Analyze how energy moves through ecosystems using pebbles.
• Evaluate case studies showing changes to various ecosystems.

• They are familiar with representing chemical reactions at a particle level using written and hands-on models.
